In April Belvedere, owner of Polish Sobieski vodka brand, announced that American celebrity actor Bruce Willis was to advertise the alcohol. ‘Parkiet' found out that the actor is planning to invest in the company and may become a member of Belvedere board of directors.

Belvedere - French based drinks group - has registered debts of over half a billion euros and is currently under bankruptcy protection in France. Following the announcement that Willis could become an investor, Belvedere shares jumped by 15% on Paris bourse and 9% on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, ‘Parkiet’ reports. According to Krzysztof Tryliński, CEO, the investor may acquire not more than 30% of shares. Experts believe Willis became interested in becoming financially involved in the company after Sobieski vodka and other brands belonging to the Belvedere group noted high sales in the US.
